Sturges Charitable Trust

The Stephen H. Sturges and Rose P. Sturges Charitable Trust provides funding for scholarships that help Yuma, Arizona, area high school students attend college. Also, the Sturges Trust awards grants via the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma.

The Higher Education Scholarship Program began in 1985.  Since then, hundreds of students have received scholarships from the Stephen H. and Rose P. Sturges Trust. Each year, scholarships are awarded to Yuma area high school seniors.  With continued satisfactory grades and proper enrollment, each scholarship is renewable for three years. The annual scholarship program is done in partnership with the Yuma area high schools. Please see your school guidance counselor for information and applications.

Currently, the Stephen H. and Rose P. Sturges Charitable Trust does not do direct grant funding. Direct grant requests are not accepted. The trust contributes to the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma’s annual grant cycle, making awards to a Combined Fields of Interest Fund for the following fields: Health and Welfare; Arts and Humanities; Youth Activities; and finally an unrestricted category. Please see the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma’s website for application details. The recipients are selected from the Yuma area.

The Sturges Combined Fields of Interest Fund can receive new contributions using the Arizona Community Foundation of Yuma's website at
